This edition includes all components of SQL Server. SQL Server Enterprise edition delivers comprehensive high-end data-center capabilities with exceptionally fast performance, unlimited virtualization, and end-to-end business intelligence. Its an ultimate edition of SQL Server.
SQL Server Standard edition is suitable for small organizations and mid level enterprises. This edition delivers basic data management and business intelligence database. Standard Edition is the most popular version of SQL Server.
This edition is specially designed for web hosters (or hosting providers) who hosts/manage single or multiple web properties. It’s total-cost-of-ownership is less than other editions of SQL Server.
Developer edition is freely available full featured version of SQL Server. This edition lets developer build and test applications around SQL Server 2017. This edition is also a great resource for new learners. It is licensed for use as development and test system only. You can not use it as production system. However, one can easily migrate system developed in ‘Developer Edition’ to ‘Enterprise Edition’ or ‘Standard Edition’.
Express edition is free and entry-level database. Its ideal for learning and building desktop and small server data-driven applications. It is the best choice for independent software vendors, developers, and hobbyists building client applications.
